Re: Feature Requests
I am using 3.2.0. We have communicated before using my company email and you were very helpful. Any suggestions now?

Re: Feature Requests
Hi embernite,I am using your application since 2years now but even between the free version and a cracked one's.So today since I have save enough money for it,I decided purchase the pro version .so I noticed thatt the search bar is a kin of full with Hanping icon on the left + camera, keyboard, brush and settings on the right, didnt disturb me anyway
So my suggestion is instead of the abc dictionnaries, can you add a french-chinese one's?

Re: Feature Requests
The feedback for the new UI has been hugely positive - you can download the lite version to see it in action.
Information about buying the paid version in China can be found here.
We will look into adding further dictionaries when there is sufficient demand in that area. I would expect a Chinese-to-French dictionary to be more likely than a French-to-Chinese dictionary.
Thanks very much for your suggestion!

Re: Feature Requests
I understand that Bing and Google Translate API now charges per translation.
Is there any way to incorporate the following features into Hanping OCR?
1. Instead of just one row or column being scanned (non-block), could a block of characters more than one row or column be scanned and copied onto the clipboard? This way, the user is free to copy the content of the clipboard onto Google Translate without the developer being charged per translation? I guess this is akin to Pleco's "copy and save blocks of recognized text" feature in the paid version of its OCR.
2. Like Pleco, be able to use "Pulse" so that if a mistake is made recognizing characters, a touch of a button (or portion of the touch screen) can allow the application to re-attempt character recognition?
3. Have a setting to optimize computer (lcd/led monitor) screen character capture from flash enabled websites such as this whose characters cannot be copied and pasted onto a clipboard or word document:

Thank you Embermitre.

Re: Feature Requests
Thanks for your feedback.
1. You've probably already seen the Copy Text action item in the menu. So, like you say, what is missing is the ability to recognize multi-line text. There are several ways to tackle this but we want to find the most user friendly way before introducing it. Probably a feature to "recognize all text in the visible window" would work best. I never got around to getting that working to production level, so it did not make the first version. Will consider it for the next update though.
2. This would be quite a bit of work to implement. The current work around would be just to concentrate your zooming/panning/divider controls until it gets the recognition right for that character.
3. Yes, this would be useful and it's already on our todo list!

Re: Feature Requests
I would like to see a "paste" -button. Somewhere close to the "Search bar". It is very annoying to long press there, then select paste.
Especially because I use this to translate normal chat on QQ. So there are hundreds of sentences I use it to translate daily hehe.
What I do at the moment is just to exit the application each time (but I often forget this, so it becomes even more troublesome). Then when I restart hanping, it auto copies my clipboards latest text there. But that is inconvenient as well.
Is it possible to get that kind of a button? Or maybe put it in the settings, so everyone can decide themselves whether they want to use it or not.
I was thinking that it could be positioned just under the search bar. (Samsung Galaxy S2 user).

I'm reluctant to add buttons to the main search screen because one of the main attractions of hanping is it's simplicity. However, we have plans in the near future to improve on the current approach and this should help your issue considerably.
