SOME Chinese characters displayed as blank squares

Hi,

Recently only some characters are displayed as blank squares. Ones that I've noticed so far included frequently used characters such as 不 and 了. This is obviously annoying, but even more so as it it seems to be the case for any app that uses Chinese, including input method apps. This means that I can't send messages in Chinese.

I've not installed any new apps since I've had Hanping working properly. The only thing I can think of that might effect this is that the Sogou input app has updated recently. I've since uninstalled Sogou and am using Google pinyin input.

Do I have to reinstall the fonts? If so, how?

I am using Hanping Pro 2.6.4

Which device are you using? Which firmware? Is your device rooted?

The fonts are taken at the system level, so I cannot see how anything can change unless either your device is rooted or you have performed a firmware update.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830. Android 2.2.1. Not rooted

I'm very sorry I really have no idea - I can only suggest contacting Samsung support.

This problem has now been solved after updating to the latest firmware via the Samsung Kies software
